Community safety is perhaps one of the most important concerns of citizens today. For those who have been personally touched by a tragedy or know someone who has been, understanding the need for a helicopter is very clear. Not only can they save time and money but, more importantly, the technology a helicopter can offer could mean the difference between life and death.

When a child goes missing or Alzheimer patient wanders off, time is critical.  It alone can be the determining factor in the successful outcome of any search.  This is because mobilizing ground personnel, calling in support services and coordinating a plan all take time.  Competing against these efforts are a number of complicating factors, including the weather, the landscape and, most importantly, a lack of proper resources.  Yet, through all of this, family members must face the heartache of waiting and wondering.  A wait that can seem like an eternity.

The RASAR community safety search and rescue helicopter program is a unique initiative that would see fully equipped search aircraft made available to communities across Ontario at no cost to taxpayers.  In the event of a missing person, community emergency or natural disaster, local emergency services would be able to call upon aviation support provided through the RASAR program.

As a vital resource for your community a helicopter can provide a faster and more effective response in providing operational support and saving lives.
